As you may have heard and wondered about, the Vallejo City Unified School District, at their February 19 Board meeting, voted, 4-1, to close the Loma Vista Environmental Sciences Academy at the end of this school year. Although the decision to close the school may impact the Loma Vista Farm, the Friends of Loma Vista Farm (FLVF) are not going to be closing the Farm. After 50 years, the Farm has become a “jewel” of the City and the School District. Our community has consistently come forward to support our efforts to provide a unique and engaging environment for the people of the City and the Bay Area.
