No, we have alpacas. Alpacas are in the same family as llamas, but are smaller.

No, both cows are female. Some cows are born with horns. Horns are not gender-based, they are breed-based, although some cows can have horns removed when they are young.

We do not accept donated animals. We are an educational school farm and so carefully maintain enough variety and with a firm set number of animals for educational purposes.

We do not sell animals. The Farm is an educational program of the Vallejo City Unified School District. Our animals are pets and live out their whole lives on the Farm.

We do not allow feeding of the animals. The animals are on a strict diet recommended by our vet to maximize our animals’ health.

Yes, we do sell potted plants in the greenhouse. The plants are for sale anytime the Farm is open. The plants are grown by the students as part of their plant science lessons. The extras are sold to raise money for supplies to continue the plant science lessons. Please see the “How to Buy Plants” signs in the greenhouse.

Individuals and families are welcome to visit the Farm during open hours as drop in visitors. There is no entry cost, but we do have a donation box. Please read Farm rules before walking around.

Group visits of schools, daycares, or any other groups need to call to make a reservation. The cost is $5 per child and no charge for adults. Since the Farm is a program of the Vallejo City Unified School District, VCUSD students do not have an admission cost.
