Animal Rights Awareness Week at the Farm

Created in 1991 by In Defense of Animals, Animal Rights Awareness week takes place June 19th through June 25th (according to their website). This week remembers any and all animals lost before their time and creates an opportunity to educate about and bring attention to the rights of animals.

To show your support, here are some actions you can take to support animal rights:

  • You can buy cruelty free products, items that don’t use animals for testing by looking for a Leaping Bunny and by doing research on the product and company before you buy.
  • Another action you can take is to advocate by sharing and standing up for animal rights on social media. Repost your favorite activist or organization, share your own thoughts, and spread awareness.
  • Participating in or hosting your own animal rights awareness event is another way to bring light to this movement. You can host a run, show an animal rights film, or make your own creative event.

Here at the farm, we have quite a variety of animals, including our alpacas, chickens, peacocks, turkeys, cows, goats, horses, pigs, rabbits, and sheep. Join us by learning from our animals and taking that knowledge and advocating for other animals, spreading the word on animal rights, and taking opportunities to share and educate.
