Loma Vista Farm is a 5-acre outdoor classroom that provides hands-on educational activities involving plants and animals for children of all ages and abilities. We seek to increase students’ knowledge of nature and nutrition while enhancing academic learning, ecoliteracy, and psychosocial development.
The Farm offers field trips, after-school opportunities through 4-H, community service and volunteer opportunities, garden-based workshops for adults, and job training for college students, developmentally disabled young adults, and disadvantaged youth.
Loma Vista Farm is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. year round. It is closed on holidays and winter break. The Farm is open the third Saturday morning of each month during the scheduled volunteer day. Individuals and families are welcome to visit on a drop in basis. There is no cost to enter. There is a donation box, vending machines that provide animal food pellets for one quarter per handful, and lots of nice plants for sale in the greenhouse. School. youth, and other organized groups need to call to make a reservation. Call for more information.
