You <\/span><i style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">CAN<\/i><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\"> have it all with Edible landscaping.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Edible landscaping is the process of following the design principles of ornamental landscaping but strategically incorporating a variety of herbals and edibles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">The basic principles of landscape design:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unity\u2014attracts and holds attention.<\/li>\n<li>Lines\u2014a powerful design element that defines rooms and connects people to the landscape.<\/li>\n<li>Form\u2014includes the three-dimensional mass.<\/li>\n<li>Texture\u2014fine\/coarse, heavy\/light, thin\/dense, and light\/shade.<\/li>\n<li>Color\u2014gives the greatest appeal and evokes the greatest response.<\/li>\n<li>Scale\u2014evokes emotional connection and is closely related to color.<\/li>\n<li>Balance\u2014equilibrium on left and right sides.<\/li>\n<li>Simplicity and Variety\u2014work together to balance each other. Simplicity is a degree of repetition rather than constant change, creating unity. Variety is diversity and contrast in form, texture, and color, preventing monotony.<\/li>\n<li>Emphasis\u2014dominance and subordination of elements.<\/li>\n<li>Sequence\u2014the change or flow in form, texture, color, and size, giving a sense of movement or life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">A few examples of beautiful vegetables:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lettuce\u2014Monet couldn\u2019t wish for a more beautiful palette of colors and shapes.<\/li>\n<li>Spinach\u2014this dark green edible goodness is just the right size to fill in the areas between herbs and flowers.<\/li>\n<li>Swiss Chard\u2014the Ruby Red and Rainbow varieties provide dramatic color.<\/li>\n<li>Kale\u2014crisp and healthy beauty in a variety of textures.<\/li>\n<li>Scarlet Runner Beans\u2014beautiful red flowers on a 6-foot-tall vine with edible pods.<\/li>\n<li>Chili Peppers\u2014they come in amazing varieties of color and shape and will spice up your landscape and your dinner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Fruit at every level:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ground Cover\u2014strawberries look great nestled among flowers, herbs, and vegetables.<\/li>\n<li>Vines\u2014grapes can cover walls and fences while rewarding you with bunches of bite-size treats.<\/li>\n<li>Berry bushes are handsome, do great in containers, and can be trellised to provide structural beauty and delightful morsels of deliciousness.<\/li>\n<li>Dwarf fruit trees enhance form and emphasis in your landscape with fruit that gives the appearance of ornaments on a Christmas tree.<\/li>\n<li>Taller fruit and nut trees provide shade, beauty, and food.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Almost any herb works in edible landscaping, including these fine examples:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pineapple salvia with its lush green leaves scented of pineapple and exploding with red flowers from late summer into winter.<\/li>\n<li>Lavender\u2014a mainstay with its calming colors and fragrance.<\/li>\n<li>Basil\u2014try purple basil for a splash of color, fino verde for a lovely mounding shape, check <a style=\"font-family: inherit; color: inherit; text-decoration: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/alliedexperts.com\/services\/furnaces-installation-repair\/cherry-hill-nj\/\">http:\/\/www.alliedexperts.com\/<\/a>, or Thai basil for a beautiful contrast in color with its green leaves and purple flowers.<\/li>\n<li>Parsley\u2014curled is gorgeous, and flat leaf is a great contrast to other plants with a larger or finer leaf texture.<\/li>\n<li>Pineapple mint\u2014nicely contrasting green and white leaves with a crinkly texture.
