We need volunteers on November 18th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to create the first layer of a Permaculture Public Garden!

LOMA VISTA FARM has been a resource for environmental education and experiences for Vallejo’s children and community for over four decades. SUSTAINABLE SOLANO, formerly Benicia Community Gardens, has been working towards community sustainability since 1999. These two natural partners are coming together to create a Permaculture Demonstration Public Garden.

Permaculture is centered on earth care, people care, and fair share. Learn about how these permaculture concepts apply to this garden and our community, as well as how it can be applied to your own gardens. Build together: plant trees, dig swales, and mulch as you create the first layer of the Permaculture Public Garden. Share a table and meet new friends over pizza and drinks provided at lunch.

We will end the event with information about the overall design, use of secondary water, and details and tips for how to involve children in the creation/learning process.

This event is FREE and open to the public.
Anyone interested in volunteering will need to pre-register. We’ll have tools onsite for you to use but we are asking you to bring a refillable water bottle if possible.
